What to bring to Boyne Mountain – Jan 15-18, 2010

Bedding:

Bedding is provided. You can bring an extra blanket and pillow if you desire.

Toiletries:

Bring your own soap, toothbrush, deodorant, etc... Towels are provided, but you can also bring your own.

Games:

Feel free to bring Taboo, Gestures, cards, and other such group games.  In addition, you can also bring DVD player, movies, stereos and iPods.

Food:

You are responsible for your own food.  Each condo has its own kitchen. We usually buy frozen, pre-prepared foods so it's not a burden when it's time to eat.  These foods include: Lasagna, meatballs, chicken wings, pizza, salad, fruit, breakfast food, lunch type food, hot cocoa, etc...

You can also purchase food at the resort restaurants, or free load off your neighbors, lol.

Discounts

We have discounts (additional 10% off) at Dunham's in Troy and West Bloomfield. Just identify yourself as participating in 2010 MLK Ski Weekend and you will receive the discount.

The Ski Gear

Ø       You will need a ski jacket (collar should come above your chin when zipped) $39. Most of you will already have one.

Ø       Pair of ski gloves (must have drawstrings at wrist) $7-$15

Ø       Ski pants or ski bib (overalls) $19.99

Ø       Ski socks (must be made of Lycra, nylon or other synthetic material...no cotton!) $5-$10

Ø       Ski Goggles $7-$20

Ø       Turtle neck or other long sleeve tee-shirt $10

Ø       Sweater or Fleece $15

Ø       Ski Mask (not the car jacking one) $15 (optional)

Ø       Long John's or workout pants $7-$10

Ø       Ski Hat (no skull caps. We are not in the hood) $3-$15

Ø       Winter Boots (If you live in Michigan, you already have these)

Other equipment (optional)

Ø       Two-Way radio (5 Mile Range minimum)

Ø       Hand warmers

Ø       Sunglasses

Ø       Flashlights

Ø       Duffle bags (work better than suitcases and easier to pack into vehicle. Personally I use trash bags for my stuff)

These items are absolutely necessary if you want to enjoy yourself skiing and stay warm.  Most of you will already have most of these items. The proper gear will keep you warm all day. The wrong gear will have you to lose the feeling in your toes/fingers.

We do not ski in jeans or leather jackets!!!!!

Also remember to have your best boots, warm fleeces, jeans, extra socks, swimming suit, long johns, and fly gear for the parties.

Please also pack your gear for the following parties:

Friday – Meet and Greet, Speed Dating, House parties, Official after party (comfortable dress)

Saturday – “The Pajama and Lingerie Party” (pajamas and lingerie!!!)

Sunday – Winter Hedonism… “The Tee Shirt Affair” (shirts provided)

If I forgot to address anything, please let me know.  Look for updates through email and on the website.

Thanks,

Shed Amin
